TOEFL EXERCISE : Choose the letter of the underlines word or group of words that is not correct.

    The incorrect answer is (A) know., because the subject (nobody) is singular, then we should add s to the “know”.
    It will become like this, nobody knows the procces of glass-making was invented.

    The incorrect answer is (A) presents, because the subject (the languagws of the world) is plural, then we should get rid of the -s from “presents”.
    The correct sentence will become like this, the languages of the world present a vast array of structural similarities and difference.

  2. The rise of multinatonals (A) have (B) resulted in a great deal of legal ambiguity because multinationals (C) can (D) operate in so many juridictions.
    The incorrect answer is (A) have, because the subject is singular, then the correct answer is "has" not "have".
    the correct sentence should be like this : The rise of multinationals has resulted in a great deal of legal ambiguity because multinationals can operate in so many juridictions.

    The incorrect answer is © who, because the subject is clearly a thing, not human, then we should replace “who” with “that” or “which”.
    The correct version will be like this, mesquite is a small tree in Southwest which/that can with stand the severest drought.
